His art is still growing, and so is the circle around him.

The artist
Bashir Oliver is 24, non-verbal, and autistic, and to his family he's Babi. His laugh is contagious, his clever antics will leave you shaking your head, and his love of music fills every room he walks into.
He paints, collages, and works in feather and texture. His mother, Jamila Raegan, is an artist too, and the art of He Blooms is theirs.

Art from Bashir and Jamila, with prints and collector editions on the way.

On February 20, 2026, Bashir was found injured and alone at an airport. The provider entrusted with his care failed him.
He is not what happened to him. He blooms.

The garden
His mother, his family, and his community keep showing up for him, because a flower doesn't bloom alone.

The umbrella
The campaign and the heart, celebrating Babi, his art, and the family who keeps watering him.
The foundation
Accountability and solutions, pursued together, so what happened to Bashir doesn't happen to the next family.
The solution
Co-founded by sisters Jamila Raegan and Tina Farris. Amada means beloved. AMADA Soft Haus is a dignified home for high-need adults, built by the people who know what's missing.
